I was a 160 lb charge nurse in a busy ER.
When COVID surged, I worked and ate all the time.
In May 2021, I saw a photo of myself serving “resiliency” ice cream to my staff and literally did not recognize myself. I was pushing 178. I went back to the gym.
I went to Functional Fx and Sproing. They were hard. But I got better. I ate less and better. By late winter I was down to 147.
What snuck up on me was the mental piece. Self-care is important. Make a little time.
Punching the crap of anything in Mortal Kombat? Total stress reliever.
SynergyFx helped me lose weight and safely get through a really hard time. So impressed with its COVID protocols. Strong enough for an ER, made for a gym. Also I am okay. 🙂
I was retired, still getting my legs back from a
double knee replacement and gaining weight.
Not exactly my vision of the golden years.
The solution was right in front of me. My wife has been a member for over 30 years. My daughter has fond memories of childcare and still pops in for class.
I did Kick Start and started personal training with Rod twice a week. I lost 11 lbs and 7 inches. I can be found riding my bike, traveling, and enjoying life.
Special moment: I was on a Zoom call with a friend from high school and he said I looked “buff”.

I have struggled with weight the majority of my life.
I’d lose weight, return to unhealthy habits and gain back, sometimes more than I lost. I was not participating in any movement classes. I didn’t want to look at myself in the mirror.
I have participated in 3 Kick Starts and am looking forward to my 4th. I have lost a total of 32 lbs, kept it off, and go to TRX, Sproing, and Pilates.
What’s the difference this time? Accountability. I have a team and coach guiding, encouraging, and following up with me. Do I stumble? ABSOLUTELY. But I have the tools and support to get back on track.
I can now look at myself in the mirror!
I have been a member of SynergyFx for 12 years.
Since 2016 I have had 5 surgical procedures for my
lower back and knee repair surgery.
I am a professional singer and music professor. I need to maintain my health, mobility, strength, and endurance. I now do private Pilates and personal training (2x week).
SynergyFx not only helped me with my rehab process, physically and psychologically but has trained me to be in the strongest shape ever.

I have been a member of SynergyFx for 30 years.
It has always been different than most gyms.
The owners, Charmaine & Rod, take a personal interest in their members and truly care about our fitness and overall health.
I retired in 2020. My health and fitness became my focus and SynergyFx was my new job. I lost 30 lbs in 9 months and finally understood that the right combination of exercises and proper nutrition is the key.
I go to Sproing, (HIIT Cardio), Mortal Kombat (Cardio & Strength), Functional Fx (HIIT Strength) and Buddha Camp (Pilates Core & Flexibility).
SynergyFx has helped me get to where I am today.
I came to strength training late in life. I thought it just wasn’t for me.
But as I retired, I realized I was too thin, had declining muscle strength and the daily walks and situps weren’t cutting it.
I grew my strength, endurance, and sense of well-being through strength
training and better eating.
Like a lot of women, I managed my weight by eating too little without regard to a balance of protein, carbs, and fat. Kick Start gave me new habits and a commitment not to “eat like a bird.”
I feel better and stronger. I look forward to personal training 2x a week. I really appreciate the help of my coach, Liesl, who can inspire and push at the right time.
